The name Wyncantores originates
from the old spelling of Wincanton and cantores meaning "singers"

The Wyncantores, pictured here at Stourhead in the summer, will be returning to Stourhead on December 17 and 18 to perform Christmas carol concerts. They will also be performing at the Shaftesbury Arts Centre, and in Stratford-sub-Castle. See 'Christmas' section for more details.

Wincantores Music Society

Wyncantores is a Chamber Choir that was formed in 1970 as an informal Madrigal Group. Since that time they have grown in size to over 30 singers. While their open-air concerts of Madrigals and Part Songs at Stourhead remain a regular and popular feature of their calendar, they also give concerts and sing services throughout the year in local Churches and Cathedrals.
